This elegant single-tier box (ichiju) features a vivid vermilion lid adorned with Maki-e, a classical Japanese decorative technique in which auspicious motifs are painted in gold. Three design variants are available: "Takarazukushi" arranges traditional Japanese treasure symbols in a circular formation, expressing the wish that good fortune may spread wide; "Sehagari" depicts charming auspicious animals, a motif rooted in the custom of embroidering the back of an infant's garment to ward off harm and wish continued health; and "Tsuru Kame Takaramusubi" places a boldly drawn crane and tortoise at the center — both cherished symbols of longevity — framed by delicate takaramusubi knot motifs at the corners.
