When March comes around, that festive brilliance suddenly comes to mind. Here is an interior piece that lets you fully enjoy Hinamatsuri, Japan's traditional Doll Festival held to wish for the healthy growth of girls. Rather than the usual tiered display, this is a new way to enjoy the imperial couple of Hina dolls as a single flat panel: the prince and princess are delicately rendered in the traditional craft of Maki-e on an auspicious, fan-shaped gold-leaf body.
