• This is a pair of lacquered chopsticks decorated with auspicious "takarazukushi" treasure motifs.

A pair of chopsticks created to wish a married or anniversary-celebrating couple lasting, treasured happiness in their daily life. The design gathers together lucky "takarazukushi" (collected treasures) motifs, painted on the chopsticks with the wish that two people may share precious time together for years to come. A gift of chopsticks is auspicious as a "bridge (hashi) to happiness," and a matching pair, known as "meoto-bashi" (couple's chopsticks), is itself a lucky charm for a harmonious marriage.
The chopsticks are delivered in a wooden box (kissho-ume box) painted with red and white plum blossoms, the flower that blooms earliest in the year and heralds the arrival of spring. Dignified enough for a formal gift or a present to someone of higher standing.
